Précis Writing Or Reporting an Event Or Letter Writing
A. Précis Writing : (a)The number of words in the passage given should be 10 marks mentioned at the end of the passage. The passage should not exceed 500 words.
Break up of marks (b) The précis should be written in about one-third of the words Title : 2 marks given in the passage. A title should be given.
Precis : 8 marks (c) Use of Indirect Speech, third person narrative should be followed.
(d) Objectivity should be maintained. Opinions, repetitions, example etc. should be avoided.
(e) All ideas must be written in a single paragraph with logical and clear interconnection of ideas.
(f) Borrowing of sentences from the given text passage is strictly prohibited. Writing in one's own lanugage is preferred.
(g) Marks Division to be shown clearly on answer script.
